NEW_PAGES

Some pages i have devolped today using textures and also using sewing as well. Starting to come together now i feel. Want to make some posters with it and photograph them in a situation.

Here is a mock up of the book i created over the last week with different media in it from tracing paper to screen printing to sewing. Overall i think it really works and can be really developed into something really well worked at the end. Only problem i have, do i leave the book all rough and not made very well or do i make it all beautiful cut out and stuck together well. 

Just looking at creating more textures with the imagery and different media. Considering i wasn't getting into to this all mixed media i really have enjoyed making this work! Here are i think the strongest results have come from last week or so.

I looked at making a book out of fabric and the end product kinda failed but has swayed me into another idea were i can develop this further. Overall it left positives and negatives but were i am going to take it is making a zine out of different medias and fabrics. The screen printing really leaves a strong contrast to the image and to the fabric as well as i like how i sewn through the pages and had the shapes from the other page on to the next page.

Again in lesson i have been experimenting with looking at adding typography to my images and tried stenciling a with different media. The last 3 images were some photocopies were i zoomed onto and has really picked some really interesting textures and compositions of the imagery it has left.

In lesson i started to look at looking at using typography on to imagery, when screen printing i found it difficult to make a font that would work next to these strong shapes and such a strong contrast in gray and black. I the word yam yam and heat pressed onto the fabric and by putting the fabric that is thin enough to see through the image i want to use. Could i make a book out of fabric as this could make an interesting historic reference were wolverhampton had a famous wool market.

ZINE UPDATE

When i took those A0 photocopies down to A4 size i later photocopied all the A4 sheets and looked at creating some imagery with them. I really love the shapes and negative spaces it has created, and there are some really interesting shapes in there too. Future posters?

FONT_EXPERIMENT

Here was the last bit of developing this font as i feel its not matching to the kind of imagery i am creating, but i am going to take this further in my own time but still be part of my zine brief. I also looked at adding a gradient to it to give it some depth and effect in the letterforms. Going to look at creating font were its adaptable for white and black background.
