DEADLINE TOMORROW
The deadline is tomorrow and im not really happy with my final outcome!
I have down a fair bit of work over the summer with other projects. I started the project less than a week to go, so i went straight into making the final outcome with a little amount of devolpment, i am kind of happy what i have done as a final outcome but overall im just not generally happy.
I had really interesting research and imagery and felt i had a strong concept and could of developed alot of interesting imagery from it. So im thinking of using this outcome as more of a moodboard, and if i have time to improve the work i feel im going to start again with a new fresh idea, but i am looking to keep some of the ideas like how iv have set out the type and highlighting the text, i just don't feel its me when i look at this work or the fact that iv done now development to even get to were i have.

Just experimenting with the word face to face which im going to try and make a type face for and depending f i have time to make one and also for one of my pages i have the phrase ;is it for the visual point of view' referring to all of this online social networking for the visual point of it? The face to face work i feel has only just started and not really been developed deeply into it but the visual point of view one is starting to look interesting as looking to distort it and have a little bit of eye candy to but i have the feeling its to bold and heavy and tried doing it to a lighter font but doesn't seem to work either. Maybe it could be done in a more subtle way? I have also used Din for the time being and for my body copy for no real relevance as i am thinking and in the process of making a font.
CONVERSATION
Going back to a previous post i was talking about highlighting the text from a status or a tweet well this is what i meant and really like to use this in my final with maybe adding text on top of it or trying to do something visually interesting. Also like the idea how it also can represent all these tweets and status and most of them seem very pointless and unnecessarily i.e why do i need to know that you are going to bed or that fact your making yourself a sandwich for?
FACES
Here just been grabbing random facebook photos in a none stalking way but trying to come up with some interesting and different kind of ways, but form the start i didn't want to intend that you could tell straight away from that they were these kind of photos. There defiantly is something in these that could work but i feel either colour needs to be adjusted or composition. I think the bottom one with the typography is starting to push it in a new direction but i really don't think it working such as yet! I also have used the shapes of the facebook status boxes and tried to put this information and imagery into these rectangle shapes.
ACCIDENTAL
Doing work over the summer for some reason my mac screen kind of frooze when i squeezed my mouse to open all the 150 files i was working on. I noticed something interesting when i did this and tried to screen grab and got some really interesting images from them!
As im looking at social networking and use of interenet and thought these remind me of some work i have been doin in my sketchbook were im highlighting over the sentences of status of conversation i am having with people and really would like to use this image and experiment creating something interesting with it!
Here are my outcomes/experiments
Here i started to add some narrative into my work by adding maps into the work giving that feel of connecting to different parts of the world through internet. I think there is some element working with these pieces but im going to continue working on them, as there some elements could work really well with them.

WAKE UP THE NATION
Being brought up on the jam when i was younger through my dad, iv recently heard the new song from legend paul weller - wake up the nation. Listening to the track there are lyrics that really got me interested more in the song as it is linked to my topic. The lyrics go as
"Get your face out the Facebook, and turn off the phone,"
He just seems to be talking about his views about todays nation with all this technology and he just thinks just go out and have fun and why do we need all this technology?! But on the otherhand not to disrespect him, he is 51 and this is what you probably would hear from your own dad.

JACOB KIMMIE
With less than a days notice i was asked to go down to london with a fellow student matt to go and spend the day filming and documenting fashion designer jacob kimmie's ( http://www.jacobkimmie.com/ ) new collection Eternal Delight. We are currently working with the footage to make 2 seperate movies for Jacob, one documenting the day which matt is doing and the other a more experimental based film on the collection and presentation which im doing. Will update when finished.
IDEAS FOR OUTCOMES?
For my finals outcomes im thinking of making a small zine just to talking about the the general subject but using the typography as the main aspects as its about communication and using the letterforms to express the feelings and emotions. The feeling are mainly lonely, not easy to understand expressing and easy to misunderstand. Maybe find more status or comments or articles to back or create some kind of content for my zine. But i do intend to use imagery in a light not heavy/obvious way but in a very digital abstract way.
A DAY OUT IN LONDON
Went to London for 2 days mainly go to see the English play against Hungry but also taking the most to visits the local art galleries/exhibitions and also going on the typical tourist attractions. We went to Saatchi art gallery to see the newspeak:British Art now and found it really interesting and loved a piece were Alastair Mackinven were he used portraits and used pins and scrunched paper together to make really interesting pieces of artwork.
Here are some others interesting pieces of work I enjoyed looking at down there! I
This piece of work above this really remind me of some tomato work were they have done something similar and but it on the window and photographed with typography on it.
Southwalk Centre - Went to see a exhibition which when i first saw on the leaflet i got excited about but then it all changed when i left. Was done by a guy called Ernestio Neto whos a Brazilian Visual Artist. He works seems to reflect a abstract minimalism and in photographs very beautiful! The exhibition was called 'Edges of the world' and was meant to be giving the feel and atmosphere of the different climates of the world such as tropical and arctic. He uses abstract forms to create this feeling by using material like stock-like materials using certain colours to create this feeling. I really did feel these feeling and did seem to make you feel go cold when you went to the blues and purples of the maze like art work but i was expecting more from it like more interesting shapes or pushing it further like in his other work than just stocklike material making tent shapes. I really did think and feel it wasn't in the right enviroment to showcase this work as i think it need more character to play with his story. When i was in the book shop i saw more of his work in more variations of settings in very beautiful building such as old crafted roofs like a st pauls like building or in a factory which gave it more of an impact that just in a white room!
Taken by me at the Gallery and below somewere of the internet were its looks so more effected!
Really never noticed it before but i really found the typography and detail on big ben really interesting and beautiful! Its Latin inscription saying 'DOMINE SALVAM FAC REGINAM NOSTRAM VICTORIAM PRIMAM' which means O Lord, keep safe our Queen Victoria the First.
And was it built for football or architectural beauty?
SENSEable City Laboratory
I came across this website through flicking through an issue of WIRED and found it really fascinating imagry and were technology is today and how it is used. Its basically a website were it researches into the study of built environment. There also really interesting and exciting visuals i could use to develop in my work from collage, wireframe, using 3d elements or combing all three together. Just find these interesting to use as inspiration.
FACE TO FACE
For my theme i am exploring into social interaction and how its play as big part of todays social networking and how we communicate with each other.
A conversation is a communication between multiple of people.
It is a social skill that is not difficult for most individuals.
But has this changed now through the use of technology?
Do humans of today find it difficult to communicate in our technology world or not?
And is face to face conversation deteriorating?

Bill Viola
So looking at research to do with 24 hours. Started of with the contemporary visual artist Bill Viola who i never really research into before but have heard mentioned once by our teacher. His main themes are looking at time vs death, religion, spiritual traditions and human experiences and turning these into video installations. When looking at his work it really make you think what is happening to our lives or what is the purpose of life? When watching FIVE ANGELS i really felt the sound and image working together powerfully and creating a emotional moving and unusual kind of supernatural atmosphere from someone falling into the water. Im not too sure about completely the meaning of this work but im starting to understand a little by the way how humans have deep feelings and not being able to express them and being able to brings your deep thoughts into the world and is reflected by reversing the footage so to express this idea. Apparently he reversed the footage to so he could give the idea of birth which probably helps me to understand it more. I could keep babbling about his work and probably get even more confused than i already am, but i think this is successful piece of work as its beautiful to watch and i keep going back to his work to try to think what is the actually going on and whats the narrative behind it?
